Work Hardening Programme

The Work Hardening programme is a specific exercise and cardiovascular programme to assist the worker to achieve work hardening, strength and fitness and to participate in their usual activities at work and at home.

The progamme is for those workers who are not struggling with the effects of pain as a limiting factor.

We will help your worker achieve the maximum possible level of functioning through the use of activity and exercise, assisting them to ‘self manage’ and enhance their level of independence and participation in their usual life roles.

The clinician will design an individualised program following liaison with other health professionals working with the worker and considering their functional difficulties and goals

The clinican will also liaise with employers and others involved to assist in the safe/early return of the worker to work and/ or life roles with individual programs designed for the specific situation.
