Marcia is a
New Zealand
qualified occupational therapist with over 12 years experience. She has worked extensively in mental health acute and community facilities. Marcia made the transition towards the physical health area of practise when she took on a 12 month locum role for The Auckland Regional Pain Service in 1999. This is where she gained a good understanding of pain and the way it impacts on people, as well as preferred multi-disciplinary intervention strategies. Marcia also has a role as a member of AMPS (Assessment of Motor and Processing Skills) faculty, co-facilitating training in NZ and
Australia
. Marcia's other work interests include providing supervision and tutoring through Open Polytech. Marcia gets great job satisfaction from enabling injured workers to return to their employment. She finds her skill mix of mental health and pain management are a good base to work from. She andher husband thrive on the challenge of juggling their 3 young children with paid-work commitments.
