Buffy McNicholas is a New Zealand qualified Occupational Therapist with over 20 years experience, She has worked extensively in community mental health in New Zealand and England , including 5 years in vocational rehabilitation.
More recently Buffy has worked for the Community Mental Health team in the mid north and has obtained a Post Grad Cert in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy from Otago University.
Buffy’s other work interests involved supervision of Occupational Therapists and mental health non government organisation (NGO) Staff. She has a special interest in the Supported Employment Model and in the development of vocational services for mental health consumers in the Mid North.
She has come to AIM with an interest in utilising Cognitive Behavioural Strategies for Pain Management and to assist people with injuries to return to work effectively.
