Margot Forrest Occupational TherapistI am excited to be working with AIM as an Independent Occupational Therapist based in Russell.  I moved from Tauranga to the Bay of Islands a year ago and have fallen for the exquisite beauty of this place.  As my work evolves, in between kayaking, swimming and other outdoor pursuits, I enjoy developing my understanding of vocational work, my growing knowledge of this community and the associated networks I am establishing.

The clinical roles I have worked in range from acute and chronic care within mental health, group psychotherapy, general medical services including hand therapy, splint making and education programme for people with back pain, respiratory conditions and diabetes.

Many years ago I entered management when I took on the role of Manager of Occupational Therapy service in a general Vancouver hospital.  After 6 years away I returned to New Zealand and soon after took up a role with the Department of Health consulting to OT services throughout the country.  From there I managed the Hutt Valley Health Occupational Therapy Service for 6 years.  In recent times I diversified into a broad range of roles within the health & disability sectors including middle management in IHC and health promotion with the Heart Foundation of New Zealand.

I am very happy to be back providing face to face clinical Occupational Therapy.  It is great to be working with Deb & Deb who are always positive and inspirational in their leadership.
